Located in the heart of East Launceston, Relish operates as a cafe during the day and as a private venue by night. Relish’s unique space can accommodate up to 30 guests for a seated event & up to 70 guests for a cocktail event, achieving these numbers by utilising both our inside space and the sheltered courtyard.
Whether you’re looking to host a work Christmas party, product launch, wedding reception or birthday party, our experienced team are here to help you make the most of your event.
Dining at Relish is all about sharing great food & drinks in a relaxed setting. Our kitchen delivers honest, locally sourced food with big flavour. Our food and drinks packages can be tailored to your needs by offering both bite-sized bits or more substantial plated dishes.
THE DETAILS
The events configuration will depend completely on the size of your event, however when experiencing a private event at Relish, you will have the venue exclusively.
We have canapé packages that offer varying amounts for you to select from. These can be paired with a bar tab of your suggested amount or as a cash bar option.
Our food options are flexible, and we can work with you to tailor food and drinks that will best suit your event and any dietary requirements you or your guests might have.

Relish is located just 3 minutes by car from Launceston Central city. We are also on the route of number 141 + 142 buses.

There is unrestricted street parking available in the immediate area. We also have a private car park behind the café where guests may park. The entry to this car park is up beside the Sims for Property building. Relish encourages taxiing or carpooling to and from your event.

To secure the cafe for exclusive use, there are minimum spends on food and beverage. This varies seasonally – as a guide – Winter events must achieve a minimum spend of $1800.00 – all other events must achieve a minimum spend of $2200.00.
The deposit will be calculated on the food portion of your event.
Minimum spend: The cost of hiring the venue for the hire period is relevant to the quoted minimum spend. All other costs are incurred by you. Your use of the venue is your responsibility, including consumption over and above the minimum spend.
Deposit: As requested you will pay a deposit of one quarter (1/4) of the minimum spend. The deposit will be refunded only if you cancel your booking one (1) month prior to the commencement of the hire period.
Pre-Payment: Full payment of the minimum spend, less the deposit, will be required at least five (5) business days prior to the commencement of the hire period. Payment may be made by cash, credit card or by direct deposit. Payment by other means such as personal or company cheques must be arranged prior and will be require seven (7) business days prior to the commencement of the hired period.
Final Numbers: Final numbers are required forty-eight hours (48) or two (2) working days prior to the commencement of the hire period. Any changes to numbers following this are at the discretion of management. Should the numbers decrease for the event, payment will still be based on the confirmed number of guests, not how many guests attend on the day.
Payment over and above Minimum spend (pre-payment): Should there be an outstanding amount of food or beverage that has been consumed during the hire period that is over and above the minimum spend, this will be fixed up at the conclusion of the hire period. Payment may be made by cash, credit card or by direct deposit.
Cancellation of event: A non-refundable initial deposit is required to confirm your event date. This deposit will be credited towards your final bill. In the event that you cancel your event, the deposit is non-refundable if it is within four (4) weeks of the event date.
Food and beverage: Relish shall be the sole supplier of all food and beverage at all events. Celebration cakes are the only exception and must be approved by the events manager prior to the event taking pace. A cakeage fee of $5.00 per person will apply. Refrigeration can be provided on request.
Venue Fees and costs: The cost to host your event in our space includes, staffing - prior, during and after the event, cleaning, arranging of room or packing away of tables, chairs, food and beverage outlay.
Liability and Indemnity: You will and do:
Release us, our employees, agents, and contractors to the full extent permitted by law from all claims and demands and from all liability which may arise in respect of any accident of negligence of any kind, for loss or damage to the property or injury to any person in or near the venue; and indemnify and hold harmless us and any of our related or associated companies, employees, agents and contractors from and against liability for all actions, claims, demands, loss, damages, costs and expenses in respect of any damage to property or injury to any persona which may have suffered or sustained in, upon or near any part of the venue arising from the use of the venue by you, your guests, your invitees, employees or contractors, except where such claims and demands or liability are due to negligence on our part. Where we seek an indemnity or impose liability on you under these terms and conditions, for indirect or consequential loss, your liability is capped at ten (10) times the total fees paid by you under the agreement.Damage to the venue: You accept responsibility for any and all damage to the venue, its surrounds, fittings, and equipment caused by you, your guests or invitees, employees or contractors and you will, on request pay the full amount for any repairs, replacements or other financial loss resulting from the damage.
Noise Levels: We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to alter the volume setting of the equipment at any time. As we are in a residential area, last drinks will be called at 10.30pm and the venue vacated by 11pm. Management also reserves the right to close the bar and the venue at any time, prior to the above timeline, should the guests be disorderly or too intoxicated.
Right to exclude: We reserve the right to exclude or eject any person or persons from the venue for any reason whatsoever without liability.
Use of venue: You cannot use the venue for any purpose other than the intended purpose of hire.
Termination of the hire period: We may terminate your hire venue if: you or your guests or invitees, employees, or contractors breach any of these terms and conditions OR, You use the venue for a purpose other than for the purpose of hire.
Impossibility: Should events beyond parties’ control, such as acts of God or civil disturbances, materially affect that parties ability to perform its obligations under the agreement, it shall be terminated without penalty and (except for our obligation to repay you in relation to the event) no party shall be liable to pay to the other party any amounts as a result of the termination.
EXTERNAL SERVICE PROVIDORS:
You may only engage another person to provide services at the venue in connection with your event with our prior consent and provided that that person holds insurance that is satisfactory to us. Our consent may be withheld at our discretion.
Any external service must take out public liability insurance and a certificate of currency must be provided upon request.
